Your life is bigger than the charge. A criminal defense should account for your career, any professional license concerns, your business, and your family — not just the case number.

For a professional or business owner, the questions rarely stop at the courthouse door: What should I tell my employer? Could my professional license be affected? How do I manage work and family while the case is pending? What should I understand before agreeing to any resolution? We start by understanding the allegations, your circumstances, and what matters to you. The goal is to help you make informed decisions about your criminal defense and to identify concerns that may require separate legal advice.
Physicians, dentists, nurses, pharmacists, and other healthcare professionals may have questions about reporting obligations, credentialing, and their ability to continue working. Your criminal defense should account for the professional concerns you identify. Where a separate licensing issue requires additional legal advice, we will discuss the need for appropriate counsel.
When people depend on you to lead a business or manage a team, an unresolved criminal matter can feel especially disruptive. We discuss your responsibilities, explain what the case requires, and help you understand the decisions ahead without losing sight of your work and family commitments.
Real estate professionals, accountants, contractors, and other working professionals may be concerned about a license, background check, or future opportunity. Tell us what your work requires so those concerns can be considered as part of the criminal-defense discussion.
Misdemeanor and felony defense across Broward County, with attention to the criminal charges and the professional license concerns that often come with them.
We review what is available, explain the charges and procedural posture, and identify what still needs investigation.
Your profession, upcoming deadlines, concerns about work or licensing. Naming those early frames the defense and tells us whether separate legal advice is needed.
A proposed resolution is evaluated in context — not accepted simply to end the stress of a pending case.
You work directly with Attorney Tyler Williams.
Criminal defense and professional licensing are separate matters. Licensing-board proceedings, employment disputes, and other noncriminal matters may require separate counsel. The scope of representation will be stated in your written engagement agreement.
Before founding Justice Beyond Law, Tyler Williams represented people facing misdemeanor and felony charges as an Assistant Public Defender in Broward County and later worked in private criminal defense in Miami. As a solo practice, the attorney you meet is the attorney who works your case. More about Attorney Tyler Williams
There is no single answer that applies to every profession or allegation. The relevant licensing rules, the alleged conduct, and the progress or outcome of the criminal case all matter. Do not assume that an arrest means automatic license loss — or that a criminal case can have no licensing consequences. Discuss your profession and any notices or deadlines promptly.
The answer depends on the rules that apply to your license and any applicable employment or contractual requirements. Some reporting obligations arise from a plea or finding of guilt, even when adjudication is withheld. Other requirements may apply earlier. Obtain advice about your specific obligations and deadlines rather than assuming you can wait until the case ends.
A decision to resolve a criminal case should account for more than the immediate sentence. Before accepting an offer, discuss the proposed terms, available alternatives, and any professional concerns that require additional review. The criminal-court result and its consequences under licensing rules are not necessarily the same thing.
Attorney-client confidentiality does not make an arrest or court case private. Many criminal records are publicly available unless a legal exception applies. We can discuss your concerns about public records and whether any record-related relief may be available. Tell us which contact method is appropriate and whether we may leave voicemail.
Some records qualify, but eligibility depends on the offense, disposition, criminal history, and applicable law. A dismissal does not automatically erase the record. Sealing or expungement also does not guarantee removal of every online reference or eliminate every disclosure obligation. We can review whether you may qualify.
This page is for criminal-defense representation, not stand-alone professional-license defense. A board investigation or administrative hearing may require separate licensing counsel. Your engagement agreement will identify the services included in your representation.

The information on this page is general and is not legal advice for your particular situation. Outcomes depend on the facts and law applicable to each case; no result is guaranteed. Criminal-defense representation does not automatically include professional licensing, employment, immigration, or other separate legal matters. Scheduling or submitting an inquiry does not, by itself, establish an attorney-client relationship.
